How does my association set up a “Pay Your Dues Online” program for our website?
With a website from Now You Know, your association can have the ability to accept dues payments online that are deposited directly into your bank account.  With more people preferring to make payments online, it is a natural step for your association to be able to have doctors join your association online, and then make their regular dues payments online. 

How do our association's members know how much to pay?
The Now You Know “Pay Your Dues Online” system is not linked into your association's database.  Therefore it will still be necessary to send them a billing statement either by paper, or electronically using the Now You Know bulk emailing program.  The dues statements need to be created as your have done so in the past at your association.  However, additional instructions should be placed on the dues statement that notifies the doctor of the availability to make payments through your website.  The amount the doctor should pay and a membership number should be included in the statement that can be copied by the doctor to the online payment to assure accuracy.  The doctor then has the choice of paying by postal mail as before, or utilizing your online payment center linked to your association website.

What does my association need to set up on our end to have the “Pay Your Dues Online” system on our website?
The Now You Know “Pay Your Dues Online” system requires that you have an “eCommerce” account that allows monies to be directly accepted online and deposited directly into your association's bank account.  For this to occur, you will need a “Verisign” account as your “payment gateway service”. 

What is "eCommerce"?
"eCommerce" is the term used to describe selling products and services electronically (on your website).

What is a payment gateway service (PGS)?
A PGS allows your website to accept credit card numbers, get approval codes, and direct the transaction into the banking system so that funds are deposited into your Merchant account.

Why do I need a Verisign account?
Now You Know's eCommerce system is currently designed to only exchange data with Verisign Internet Merchant accounts. Verisign a leader in Payment Gateway Services.

What if I already have a Verisign account?
Just let us know your "Login name" and we will connect your eCommerce pages to that name. We do not want or need an account password.

How much does it cost?
Verisign Internet merchant account fees as of July 2006: $179 one-time setup. $19.95 per month for the first 500 transactions. $0.10 each for additional transactions

How do I get started?
You will need your Bank account information and follow the steps below.

  1. Go to www.verisign.com or call 1-888-847-2747
  2. Select "Products and Services"
  3. Select "Online payment processing" from their "Payment Services" section.
  4. Select "Payflow link", NOT "Payflow PRO".
    ( FYI - "Payflow PRO" is for those building their own custom shopping-cart systems).

    * The "Payflow Recurring Billing Service" option is not neccessary for eCommerce transactions with Now You Know. You may wish to use this feature if you want to repeatly charge your customers at designated intervals (Monthly, Quarterly, etc).

    * Set the "Advanced Technical Service" option to "None"

    * Set the "Fraud Protection Service" option to "None"
